5 Ways to Renovate Your Pool Over the Winter

We often only think about proper pool maintenance over the summer, when we use our pools most often. While it is important to properly filter and maintain your pool while it’s in use, Pools do require care year round. And if you want to upgrade or change your pool, then the best time to do so is when no one is using it.

Winter is a great time to renovate your pool. During the winter months, it is going to be too cold to go swimming, so you do not have to worry about the renovation putting a damper on your pool party season. In addition, most people drain their pools over the winter anyway, which you will have to do to prepare for the renovation. If you are ready to upgrade your exterior, here are five ways to renovate your pool over the winter.

Vanishing Edge

If you are really looking for a way to make your pool unique, you should look into one of the coolest innovations in pool renovation. You can give your pool a modern look by adding a vanishing edge to it. A vanishing edge pool creates the illusion of water without any boundaries. It may even look like the water in your pool is blending in with your surroundings. The water is actually spilling out into a lower area, which may feel like your own personal waterfall.

Wading Area

Another cool addition to a pool that will allow kids to get wet is a wading area. A wading area is also known as a Baja shelf, and it provides a step for easily entering the water. It is a great option for anyone afraid of getting right into the pool, as well as children who are not ready to go all the way into the pool right now. It also works for those who just want to sit in the wading area and enjoy the water.

Raised Deck

There is nothing like a raised deck to create a space to relax after a long day. A raised deck is a great option for hosting a pool party or cookout. It also provides enough space to enjoy the sun or work on your tan. You can have built-in benches added or add your own furniture to create enough seating for everyone.

Different Depths

Another idea is to add different depths to your pool, such as a shallow end and a deep end. This way, those with different preferences and skill levels can enjoy the pool. It also creates a safe area for children and adults who are not ready for the deep end. You can give every swimmer a peace of mind by adding different depths to your pool.

Pool Pump

Finally, you want to be sure your pool pump does not need to be upgraded. If you do not have a pool pump, now is the time to add one to your pool. A pool pump is an important part of the filtration system. It helps to clean and sanitize your pool, which is essential to creating a healthy environment. You can upgrade your pool pump to make it quieter, faster, or more efficient.

Once you determine the renovations you want to make on your pool, you can start planning your renovation for winter. Your upgraded pool should be ready by the summer.
