Google Launches Hindi Voice Recognition Search for Hindi Speaking Users

Focusing towards the need of the Indian language content on the Internet, MD of Google’s India, Mr. Rajan Anandan has announced the Indian Language Internet Alliance on Monday, 3rd November. Google hopes towards drawing 300 million Indian language speakers to the web by 2017. In order to support its effort in exhibiting the Indian language on the web, Google has announced the launch of www.hindiweb.com that will enable the Hindi speaking internet users to explore the best Hindi content across websites, videos, apps as well as blogs.

According to Prakash Javadekar, Information and Broadcasting Minister, earlier there was no platform for local language, but alliance will provide that platform.Google which currently offers voice search in English has added Hindi language service and is planning to add other languages like Marathi, Tamil and Bengali. According to Amit Singhal, the Vice President of Google “Our main mission lies in ensuring that the world’s information is universally accessible and this includes millions of users.” Giving endeavor to popularize Indian language tomorrow, Google also announces Voice Search and Knowledge Graphs. Both the approach will be available in Hindi with multiple options of fonts available at Google.com/fonts.

With the innumerable voice search and translation available in Hindi, Google has taken distinct step in the Indian Internet prospect. This year in June, Google started aiding voice search in Indian accent which works on the Google search apps for Android, iOS and Chrome browsers for desktops and laptops.

Navigation process and Search Result is not as pleasing as it is in English. The feature is still in the working phase. Moreover, the lack of content is the main reason for the disappointing search results.

But on the whole, with excellent voice recognition, it is the first successful effort that Google has made. With frequent additions in intelligence and adding up of more contents, this process will really prove to be benevolence for users.
