How Is Hyderabad City Helping Set Up The Business?

Whether you have a brilliant business idea that you want to bring to life or an early-stage startup that’s looking for affordable office space, Hyderabad could be the ideal city to help you at every stage of your entrepreneurship journey. From government help and incentives for startups to the private players and a wide variety of ideation labs, accelerators, incubators, and choice of coworking spaces in Hyderabad, you’ll have them all and more here.

Let’s delve deeper to check how the city can help you set up your business.

Government initiatives

The Telangana government has different policies and incentives for startups to encourage more people to walk down this road. For instance, under ‘Recruitment Assistance’ to promote idea-stage companies, you can get Rs. 10,000 per employee from the government as recruitment assistance for the first year.

The GMP (Government Mentorship Program) launched by the Telangana State Innovation Cell is another innovative program to lower the gap between startups and the state. If your startup is eyeing the state government as its potential client and focuses on AI (artificial intelligence) and machine learning, Big Data, content, media, and other modern and emerging technologies, this program can help you establish the right connections and be mentored by government officials.

From time to time, different partnerships are also forged and programs organized to help startups and entrepreneurs in the state, including Hyderabad. For example, in 2020, Telangana Innovation Yatra (TIY) was organized by Telangana State Innovation Cell together with Kult Nizamabad. All four routes of this 4-day journey concluded in Hyderabad and aimed to encourage participants to create innovative ideas to solve real-life problems. The final leg of the program in Hyderabad offered the participants exposure to the Hyderabad ecosystem and an opportunity to exhibit their solution to the government officials as well as other stakeholders.

Other players in the city’s startup ecosystem

In 2015, T-Hub was established as a technology hub via a partnership forged between the state government and three of Hyderabad’s leading academic institutes. Today, this Hyderabad-based hub has become a leading innovation ecosystem that powers innovative business models and next-generation products. From helping startups with mentorship, government support, and regulatory clarity to coworking spaces, T-Hub makes the entire journey somewhat seamless.

Engineering (3rd and 4th year) students in Hyderabad who want to be entrepreneurs can benefit from the semi-virtual training programs of TEP (Technology Entrepreneurship Program) offered by the ISB (at its Gachibowli, Hyderabad, and Mohali, Punjab campuses) in partnership with the TASK (Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge).

Among private players, there’s Way to Go (WTG) that can help your business idea develop into a prototype. Women-focused WEAIM in Hyderabad is another association that helps women set up their small scale startups and take them forward.

When it comes to finding affordable, fully equipped business spaces, you’ll have multiple options to choose from a wide variety of coworking offices. From T-Hub and big players like 91Springboard, InstaOffice, and iKeva to several other mid-level and smaller players, the options are many when it comes to finding flexible plans and beneficial features in a Hyderabad coworking space. And perhaps all these reasons make the city a favorable place to set up your business.
