Making High-Traffic Areas around Your Construction Site Easier and Safer

Taking heavy construction equipment into a muddy or swampy area can be dangerous. If the equipment sinks into the mud, it can be very hard to get it out. Not only that, driving construction equipment through the mud will plow deep furrows into the ground, or otherwise, wreck the environment.

Use Access Mats to Build Temporary Roads

Heavy duty construction mats made of HDPE provide a safe way to get construction equipment in and out of a site safely. When laid down in rows, these sturdy mats create a temporary road, protecting both the environment and valuable equipment. Once a proper road has been built, the mats can be stored for the next time they’re needed.

In addition to building temporary roads, access mats can be laid down around the high traffic areas of your building site. For example, these mats can be used to support the site’s porta-potties. These sorts of mats can be incredibly useful for construction projects. If you are a contractor, you might want to have some of these on hand so that you can use them at your disposal.

Lightweight and Sturdy

HDPE plastic is lightweight and sturdier than plywood. Also, they’re reusable, while expensive sheets of plywood can easily be destroyed when used as mats. These mats come in 4-foot by 8-foot sheets, and come in either black or white; white is a good choice if visibility is less than desirable. Since these mats are lightweight and sturdy, they are perfect for all the tough jobs you can throw at them. They are able to withstand the wear and tear of any construction site, so be sure to get some to keep with you. This is a great idea for any contractor that wants to make their job easier.

A Good Investment for Construction Companies

If you have a construction company, HDPE mats are a very good investment. This is especially true if you work in a region that’s swampy, or that gets heavy rains. Not only will you leave the property in pristine condition, but you’ll also protect your equipment. You’ll be able to get your equipment in and out of remote areas safely. Using construction mats can also allow you to work through rain that would otherwise shut you down. The mats can also be used to create a solid surface for equipment like cranes.

You’ll need to have enough mats on hand to lay them side-by-side, from one stable area to the next. They’re also light enough to be laid down by hand, further preserving the environment. Whether you work in residential or commercial construction, or work building off-grid power solutions like wind farms, you might need access mats.

Construction Mats Can be Recycled

Choosing mats made from recycled HDPE plastic also is a good choice, further protecting the environment. Once they’ve reached the end of their useful life, HDPE mats can be recycled.

HDPE mats are a necessary piece of equipment for any construction company operating in an area where mud is a problem.
