There are plenty of the best activities in this southern state that will get your adrenalin flowing and will also give you the chance to see a different side of Colorado. Any of these summer adventure ideas may be perfect for your Colorado vacation.

Mount Sherman Hiking

If you’re into hiking and the great outdoors, then there are plenty of opportunities to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. One of these opportunities is Mount Sherman. Mount Sherman is just one of Colorado’s many majestic mountains that offers terrific views from many areas along its ascent and is considered one of the easiest mountains to climb meaning anyone of any hiking proficiency will enjoy tackling the challenge. You can try hiking to the mountain’s peak if you’re a pro or just part of the way up the mountain if you’re a beginner in order to enjoy the splendid natural scenery along the way. If you’re going to attempt to reach the summit, you should remember to bring along all the gear that’s needed to climb over rocks and boulders. The beginning of the hiking trail up Mount Sherman is located in a parking lot within Pike National Forest.

Clear Creek Rafting

There are many great spots to go white water rafting in Colorado, and Clear Creek is one of the best. The creek is located in Idaho Springs and is less than an hour’s drive from Denver. You’ll travel along through sections of fast, rushing rapids and calmer water throughout your adventure. During your white water rafting experience, you may also get to see some of the area’s native wildlife creatures, such as deer, beavers, and bighorn sheep. If you don’t want to raft alone, you can join a guided tour or put together a group of friends or family to go with you. No matter your experience level, there will still be plenty of opportunities for you to take advantage of this adventure, and in fact, you can even learn some rafting skills if you’ve never tried to ride down the rapids before.

This can be a great day out and on the water, or you can make an entire trip out of it with multiple days and nights spent rafting with your friends.

Wagon Wheel Off-roading

The Wagon Wheel Trail System in the town of Meeker offers off-road enthusiasts the chance to get off the main road and ride freer through nature. Whether you want to go off-roading in a dirt bike, an ATV, or a dune buggy, different types of off-roading vehicles are allowed on these trails so you’re guaranteed to have a great time no matter what you ride. Your off-roading adventure along these trails can include anything from crossing water to riding up and down steep and rocky hills. It’s an entire trail of terrain for you to conquer.

San Luis Valley Sandboarding

If you want to experience a thrill that’s similar to snowboarding, sandboarding can be a great summertime alternative to the winter-based sport. San Luis Valley features sand dunes that are ideal for sandboarding. Adults and kids can get in on the adventure, and sand boarders of all skill and experience levels are welcome to try.

You can satisfy your adrenalin craving and enjoy new experiences that push your boundaries if you choose to partake in one or more of these adventure activities in Colorado. Any of these activities can provide a thrill of a lifetime that you won’t soon forget.
