Adelaide will host the biggest game in limited overs cricket as part of its schedule of warm-up matches, three pool games and a quarter final for ICC World Cup 2015. In this World Cup India will be playing its opening match in the tournament in Adelaide against their traditional rival Pakistan on Sunday, 15 February 2015.To become the part of the fierce rivals between India and Pakistan that has been scheduled at the revamped Adelaide Oval on February 15, the South Asian government is expecting around 20,000 Indian travelers for this marquee clash of World Cup 2015.
According to the John Raju, the Deputy Premier of South Australia, the tickets have been sold out in 12 minutes for this grand match at more than 50,000 holding capacity stadium. But the fans are still eager to buy holiday and business packages.He further added that the recently completed new stadium is a great and exciting avenue of the cricket, while we are delighted to host India-Pakistan match. The whole exciting environs will be a complete house of India and Pakistan living together in Australia along with 20,000 fans coming from India. The match will be played on day 2 of the tournament.
India has successfully managed 100% win record against Pakistan in the tournament history.According to him, we have deliberately decided to have great engagement with India, both in terms of culture and business. Having 10 years strategy for India, beside culture and trade, we want to strongly promote sports as well. Overall four matches will be played on this historic ground.
