Tumblr To Beat Its Rivalry Facebook as Rapid Emerging Social Platform

Tumblr is occupying the front seat as the fastest growing social media platform, keeping facebook, the leader of social media far behind

Facebook may still be the largest social networking platform with 1.35 billion active users, but no doubt its rival services are growing at much faster pace than the social leader. According to the latest report by Global Web Index, “In the last six months the Tumblr’s active user base has acuminate in great number with 120% with Facebook growth showing stagnancy at 2%”. On verifying other spheres by Global Web Index, it was found that Facebook stands nowhere to its competitor service. In terms of member growth, Pinterest took lead with 57%, while Facebook came last with just 6%. Other services like Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and even Google+ beat the social networking giant with nominal margin. The Yahoo-owned social network recorded growth of 120% in six months. Facebook, on the other hand, thrived at only 2% during this period.

All these data shows that the growth of Facebook has reached to a saturation point, while, on the other hand, other social media services are recording continuous growth.

According to TechCrunch reports, in terms of mobile apps, Facebook Messenger stood second to Snapchat as the fastest growing app. But the Messenger’s growth was primarily due to Facebook’s recent push to move its users from the main app to its standalone chat app.

According to Jason Mander, head of trends and author of the report, people are getting tired of using it. The 50% of members in the UK and US depicts that they are using it less frequently than they used it as before.
