Watsapp Double Tick Marks Get Blue Indicating your Message is Read

It’s really amazing news for all Watsapp users. Popular messaging service, Watsapp has rolled out a very new update that allows users to know that their messages have been read. It is a very small yet significant feature both for Android and iOS and is still getting tested. Till now a user was notified if a message gets delivered to the recipient by two grey color tick marks next to the message. But now, users can also know whether their messages have been read by the recipients or not. Once the recipient opens to read the message, the tick mark next to the sender’s message turns into blue. In case of a group chat, the two ticks get blue when the message gets read by all the participants.

In certain cases there were misinterpretation from the users that double check marks next to the message indicates that the message has been looked, but this is not true. In realty, the double check marks simply mean that your message has been delivered to the other user. The blue color feature is the tertiary layer of information. The application will soon appear on the updates version of Watsapp. Most of the users have been noticing this change since day before yesterday, but Watsapp has finally rolled out this feature for every one now.

If you don’t see the blue color double tick marks, it could either be because your message has not been read or your contact’s watsapp is outdated or you or recipient is experiencing connection issue. Moreover, this message read confirmation is bound to prove helpful to most users, some may not like because it may make it difficult to ignore the conversation.

In addition, Watsapp has now come up with a Message Info Screen that enables users with the detail of the message they have sent. The message Info screen will appear on selecting a message sent and will give information on “when your message was delivered, read or played by the recipient”. Right now the updated application is available on Google Play and is yet to be applied for iOS app.

According to current report, Watsapp will also be adding VOIP (Voice over IP) capabilities very soon. The feature will allow the messaging app’s 600 million users to make free calls over cellular and WiFi.

Another good news revealed by Neeraj Arora, Vice President of Watsapp is that messaging service will continue to be free of cost for Indian users for some more time.
