Recent research points to more than 40% of adults worldwide report their stress levels are poor to very poor. We can see the stress in individuals more often in public. In the news as well, people are breaking under the stress of whatever they are facing.

We each have our tolerances and responses, but tempering those is only a masking of the root causes. We need more peace, balance, and mental wellness. Of course, resolving significant health, relationship, or financial problems would improve anyone’s mood.

What we need to focus on is how we are experiencing life. I don’t know if you will agree, but I feel the purpose of life is happiness. How do we identify, achieve, maintain, and share happiness which has been lost?

Our brains operate our bodies. How we feel affects those operations. When we feel anger, by instinct the blood rushes from our brain to our muscles. It is at this time, when there is less blood in the brain, that we try to think clearly.

When we are depressed or stressed, cortisol is released, and fat storage increases. That is without a bad diet or increased intake. More good news; after 40 years of age we lose 2% of muscle density annually.

One of the best weight loss vacations has become a new home and life. Thailand is amazing, and as you know, one visit can lead to a lifetime of happiness living here.

I have lived here, continuously, for over ten years since my first visit. Maybe you have felt the same feeling of freedom in Thailand. I have never felt freer in any nation. Thailand and Thai people are relaxed and happy.

The entirety of Thailand, outside of metropolitan areas, is a wellness retreat. Life in Thailand is outside. That activity will lift your mood with natural vitamins and light exposure. An ocean breeze drifting across a white sand beach as you lay under an umbrella getting a foot massage, should add years to your life.

You already know there are jungle resorts, hot springs, island waterfalls, deep isolation retreats, and luxury health and wellness spas in Thailand. Pick one near a city or area you have never visited. Take a vacation for your mental and physical health in Thailand.

Millions of tourists want to visit where we live. We should take advantage of the low seasons and take in more of this beautiful country. Our minds need newness. The creative functions die when they are not used.

I am not talking about stimulation. There is plenty of that in this world or in the cell phones we hold. What I am talking about is disengaging, and then re-engaging with a healthier mental posture. Our brains crave novelty and newness.

A stale mind and body will lead to illness, and worse. Vigorously walking in a new park or the same trail in the opposite direction can be enough to keep a sharp mind and body moving. We evolved to be bipedal. Get up and move.

Bus #11 (your legs) is waiting to take you to the next stop.
