A pre-wedding photo creation solemnized against the backdrop of a magnificent temple snatched my attention. I soon realized it wasn’t too far from where I lived and Sunday morning was all drafted to see the hidden architectural gem of Bhoga Nandishwara temple.
Located at the base of Nandi Hills in Bangalore, the impact of the Vijayanagar style of architecture and its affiliation to Hampi at the temple entrance is quite evident.
Avarebele Festival
If you are a foodie and like to experiment with food, especially the regional food, then the annual Avarebele Festival held in VV Puram is a place for you to be. Avarekai / Avarebele is green flat beans and is city’s most cherished vegetable. This vegetable is a winter specialty and the festival is about 10-15 days in January.
In this fest, Avarekai can be seen used in varied food recipes, like sambhar, dosa, idli, upma, vada and even the honey jalebi, jamoon and holige (sweet chapatti)!
Chickpet
With this burden of expectations from my ladies in house for a “Pure Silk Saree”, I walked around every Bangalorian Women to know where I can get an authentic Silk Saree and it was a unanimous vote for Chickpet and that’s a full stop!
They said just go there and you will get! So, I went and at first I did get lost but you have to make your way.

I always loved the flower decorations in the temples and rallies in Bangalore. You would find amazing flowers with all shades of colors, and they stay fresh for long!
