The hope is that you’re getting your car serviced on a regular basis here in Australia because if you don’t take care of it then how can you expect it to take care of you? We all just assume that when we go out into our driveways first thing in the morning before work that once we put the key in the ignition, the engine will turn over and off we go. There will come a morning however when you turn the key and nothing happens and this generally occurs because you haven’t been getting your car serviced by a reputable mechanic.
You may think that you’re saving your money by avoiding taking your car to the garage but it will end up costing you more money over the long term. It’s time to start using your head and scheduling your vehicle for Gold Coast tyre and mechanical checks and servicing as soon as possible. It is important that you’re safe on the road and if you’re carrying any passengers then they need to be safe as well. There are other people using the roads all across Australia and so their safety is paramount here also.
Once you schedule your car for servicing then the following are just some of the top things that your mechanic will look at.
The tyres will be checked
These are the very things that are keeping your car firmly stuck to the road and especially so on rainy days. Your mechanic will check the tread depth to make sure that it conforms to safety regulations and he will check the sidewalls as well for damage. If all is found to be satisfactory then the tyre pressure will be topped up to make sure that it stays within manufacturer guidelines.
The oil & filter will be changed
If it has been some time since your engine has been looked at then you can be pretty sure that the oil is too old at this point and so both it and the filter need to be changed. You can’t expect your engine to function properly if it is using dirty oil and so your mechanic will drain the engine completely and then replace it with quality products.
Your brakes will be tested
These are incredibly important on a vehicle because they are the one thing along with your tyres that help you to stop quickly. You never want to be involved in a road traffic accident and so if you can try to avoid it in the first place then that is money very well spent. If you need new brake shoes then your mechanic will install them and you will really notice the difference the next time that you step on the brakes.
There will of course be many other things that your mechanic can look at but these will be his top three priorities. Get your car serviced today because it is always the responsible thing to do.
