Facebook is preparing a new version of its social networking site to compete with other professional sites like LinkedIn.

While Facebook is great in terms of connecting you with friends and families. But if you wish to turn into more serious network linked to work profile, then you have to move towards LinkedIn, that provides more tools and resources to the working professionals who are looking to build up their network with other professionals. The divergence between both social networks is quite palpable, but it looks like Facebook is thinking to intrude upon the LinkedIn’s territory.Facebook is stealthily working on a new website called “Facebook at Work”. This will allow users to keep their personal profile secluded from their work profile.

This new website will appear very similar to Facebook and at the same time will compete with professional social networks like LinkedIn Corp, Google Inc,  and Microsoft Corp. This new feature will be exactly similar to Facebook application and will adopt features such as messaging capabilities, News Feeds, Groups. Note that your news feed instead of getting flooded with viral videos, celebrity gossips, cat photos etc, it will be more professional. It will also enable users to keep their personal profile sovereign from their professional account. The website with the iconic blue and white theme could enable users to chat with colleagues, connect with work contacts and collaborate on documents as with Google Drive and Microsoft Applications.

This new Facebook site has multiple features, as it will give access to the users to chat with colleagues, collaborate over documents and connect with professional contacts. The main objective of this launch is to make work more fun and efficient by building at-work version of Facebook. The code will be functional on different platforms like iOS, Android, web etc.

The actual date for the launch is not known, but it is said that initially this application will be available free. The company isn’t disclosing on the possible leak, but you might not have to stay long to try it out.
