Have your ever heard about dreadful habits that ruin your life and your health? Smoking, consuming alcohol, sleeping only a few hours per day… We all know these habits and we know their effect. However, almost none of us know that we also have study habits that affect our productivity, motivation and the overall results.

The biggest problem with these study habits is that we do not even understand that we have them and we have no clue that these habits are ruining. In this article, we are going to cover 5 the most dangerous habits that you did not even think that you have.

Please note that if you have found out that you have at least one of these habits, you need to find the way to deal with them.

We will provide you with the basic recommendations for dealing with such habits so you could get rid of them as quickly as possible.

Being last-minute student

When you just start your education at the college or university, you never think about the time that you have. You do what you want, you visit the classes that you want, you visit the parties that you want, and you regret nothing. You regret nothing until the time comes to submit your essay. At this point, you start to understand that the student life is not so easy. And you become one of those last-minute students who try to complete their assignments that the day before that must be sent to the professor. Of course, cheap essay service can save the situation, but in most cases, students forget about such opportunities and try to do everything by themselves.

From one point of view, you think that this approach is good, as you are working only one or two days before submitting your assignment. However, when you have several assignments in a row, it may be rather difficult to manage all of them. You just feel exhausted and you lose your passion all the time. In a couple of months, being a last-minute student turns into a disaster. You feel broken, disappointed, but cannot understand what makes you feel like that.

In this way, it is always better to schedule your college work. Thus, you will be able to have enough time both to have fun and to study.

Drinking more caffeine than necessary

We all know that if you want to restore the energy and feel yourself more organized and concentrated on work, you need to drink a cup of coffee. However, most of the students do not control how much coffee they consume, and in result, they drink coffee only because this is a habit.

It has been proven by the scientists that the more caffeine we consume, the more our bodies resist to it. It literarily means that if you drink 5-6 cups of coffee per day, it is more likely that the caffeine won’t help you to get concentrated.

One of the main problems connected with drinking too much coffee is that you become more and more irritated and you actually cannot longer control your emotions. You get problems with sleep though you want to sleep all the time. Thus, you need to decrease the amount of coffee you consume and reduce it to maximum 1 cup per day.

You do not sleep at night

Many students believe that the night life in college is why they came there. Some of them want to visit all the parties that start after 12 am. And there are also students who prefer to study late at night when everyone has left the campus for the party. No matter the reasons, students do not sleep during night hours. We may speak hours about the early birds and night owls from who working at night is easier, but the doctors know it better. The researches made during the past few years show that at the night hours we restore our energy better and our bodies get all necessary hormones that are produced during the sleep. That’s why it would always be better to get several hours of sleep at the night and wake up earlier that sit all night long losing precious possibility to get back your inspiration, motivation, and studying power.

You get distracted all the time

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram… You check your social media each 10 minutes and you cannot understand why the time passes so quickly. Your friend wrote you a message, you’ve decided to answer him, and in a result, you’ve been talking for a couple of hours, and you forgot about the research that you’d been working on. Getting distracted is one of the killers of productivity and one of the studying habits that have a huge negative impact on your results. If you want to improve your studying, turn off all the devices while you are working on your essay or any other assignment. First, it will be rather difficult for you to get used to the fact that you have no connection with an outer world.

You are under permanent stress because of studying

You feel tensed all the time. You think about your problems in college, with family, with your girlfriend or boyfriend, with everything. Of course, you live in the conditions that are far from perfect, and it also makes you feel stressed. But the main reason to get worried is your studying. You are afraid that you will miss some of the essays and won’t get a necessary grade. You are afraid that you will get excluded from the college. These thoughts have nothing to do with reality but they only make you feel under a permanent stress. So take life easier and remember that every single problem can be solved easily, and if you cannot do that, there is no need to get nervous about it.

Now you know the main habits that ruin your studying. Take care of your mental and physical health, get rid of the bad studying habits, and you will see that college is the place where you can both live active social life and still get good grades.
