Group tours were usually synonymous with camera-clicking tourists, big buses racing through a city or country. It was all about cheesy attraction, over-populated tourist destinations, inauthentic restaurants, other non-authentic experience.

But today, tour companies have become more adept. They feature more authentic locations, smaller groups, local guides and more. Still, many companies follow that old and outdated way of organizing a tour.

There are many destinations that are difficult to explore without an organized group tour such as Italy, Spain, France and more.

In this article, I am going to tell you how you can find the best Barcelona City tourism company if you are looking for an inexpensive and adventure filled trip to the city.

1. Research the costs of the tour:

In not always true that you get what you pay for. Many companies are in there just for the money, while some companies offer really good deals and maximize the value of your money. So, ask your tour company how your money is spent to determine whether you are getting the full worth of your money or not. You want to book a tour with a company that is transparent with you the prices. Also, make sure you ask if there is any additional fee to pay when you arrive at your destination like entrance fee to park or museum.

Also, try to avoid the single supplement. Many tour companies charge you for providing a room for a single person. They do this because they don’t want to pair people together. Look for a company that can pair solo travelers together in the same room.

2. Check the audience before booking:

Is the tour is geared for young people? Old couples? For families? It is important to check who the trip is made for. You don’t want to end with older people when you are there to have some adventure.

You can tell for who the trip is made for on the basis of accommodation, if the company has booked 3-stat or 4-star hotels, then most probably it is for families.

This is important because these are the people with whom you are going to spend the next few days and you want to make sure it’s the right kind of people.

3. Are they hiring expert local guides:

Guides are a very important part of the tour, they can make or break your tour. Guides explain to you everything about the place and they keep the flow of the tour going. You don’t want them to hire a kid or someone who is not an expert or doesn’t know about the place.

Always make sure the company hires a knowledgeable guide. If you are unsure about it, call the customer care and ask them about their guides.

4. A well-prepared schedule:

Make sure you get the details about the tour beforehand. Running around without doing much will leave you wishing to have a break from your holiday. But, you don’t want to ideal for the whole doing nothing. So, always ask your tour company how they have managed each day? What activities are included? And how much time you will be spending at each location?

5. Size of tour group:

Ask your company about the size of the group. Small tour groups tend to leave a much bigger impact than a larger group. A small group allows you to connect with fellow travelers, go to more places, spend more time at a location, and more. On the other hand, large tour groups are always on the run because managing 20-30 people can be difficult and time-consuming.

If you want to enjoy your tour thoroughly, go for smaller tour groups.

6. Safety record:

Make sure the company through which you are booking your tour follows all the proper safety rules and requirements. They should be accredited by the local government, the government where they are registered and trade organizations.

7. Check their reputation:

It is important to know the reputation of the tour company. Look for the reviews online, you can find a company review on Google easily. It is important to know whether other travelers enjoyed their time with the company or not? You can also go to travel websites or forums to learn about other travelers’ experiences.

Remember most people right review only if something goes wrong. Someone might give a company just one star because the cab got a flat tire. So, make sure you read a bunch of reviews and try to find the average. You can also try and contact the person to learn about their experience.

A tour company can make or break your holiday. So, make sure you do a thorough research before booking any deal with a company.
